Illustrate lyrics game

Postby SekoETC » Sun Oct 19, 2008 7:22 pm

How to play:

A song is selected, people post one line of the lyrics and an image that illustrates that line. If there is a difficult line and no one can illustrate it or people don't like/know the song then you may switch the channel and start with another song. Starting in the middle of a song is allowed in that case. This is based on a screenshot of a thread on /b/ where Anonymous performed Enter Sandman with lolcats.

Now playing: Metallica: One

I can't remember anything

On what grounds is the song changed? When the next person posting doesn't like it, right? Well I'll select Leonard Cohen's Take This Longing then.

I love to see you naked over there
especially from the back.

What about a rule that says a song should be used at least once in another post before you change song?

I'll even wear these old laurel leaves
that he's shaken from his head.

Basically everybody wins if we can go through a song without skipping. And you're supposed to follow the lyrics in order, otherwise where's the challenge? Surely every song has some lyrics that are easy to illustrate but the best innovations come from the more obscure things. Let's try to stick with this song for now.

Just take this longing from my tongue

(Longing makes you feel blue.)

Aww, good picture. So what are we going to do next? I think it would be for the best to choose a song that we all know and like so that there would be no need for skipping. If you'd like to continue with Leonard Cohen, I suggest Suzanne.

i don't really listen to music much so i don't know why i am posting, but i will say that Joo's picture is the best one of all so far. it fits his love of the dead as well as the topic at hand. i don't think anyone will be able to find a picture that can beat it.

Actually I don't think I've heard this song at hand but lyrics can be found with Google and good songs can be enjoyed as poetry even if you didn't know the tune.

Everybody knows that the war is over
