*The sailors carefulyl but hastily carry the injured Captain on the stretcher that is quickly being turned scarlet from the bleeding wound. The men fire at the opposition defensively, retreating as the captain moves further down the ship*

*Joo draws his saber in a flash as a french boarder approaches them and stabs him in the chest as multiple musket shots shake his twitching corpse. As more boarders approach, spotting the injured officer, he lets his saber fall with his slain foe and draws two pistols, crouching behind a barrel and shooting wildly, felling men as they run towards his position*

Hurry men, the the captain away from here!

The ship's Carronade fires loudly, and smashes a large hole above the waterline in the Loire's side in her forecastle, and at the same time, the mizzenmast of the Sparrow splinters and falls across the two ships, crushing and hiding men in a mass of spars, cordage and sails. Marines and sailors fall from the mizzen top into the sea, some far clear of the ship, others between the two hulls, now so close together that they grind the trapped men to a pulp.The two ships, now locked together in a bitter embrace, continue to fire into one another, although the guns are now less frequent as many are fighting aboard the ship, and some are not moving at all, lying where they fell or screaming on the orlop deck with the surgeon...

(I'm injured, not much I could do and this game don't really call for tactics. :P)

He sits in the bed with the rest of his bodyguards keeping watch inside and outside of the door.

*Glances to the captain, now apparently conscious* Captain. I'm sorry you were allowed to be injured in such a way. I will personally punish the bodyguards who were supposed to be protecting you, once this battle is over. But for now, we must look to the battle at hand. What are your orders?

No, it was my fault that I'm injured. Anyway, continue as planned. Torch thier ship and then charge in with the marines and head down to disable the gun decks while also trying to board through cracks in thier hull.

The cannon fire becomes more sporaddic as the crews dwindle in number, some wounded, some dead, others charging the enemy and fighting close range or firing from the vantage points. Marines clash with bayonet and butt of musket, falling at each other's stroke, stumbling over the dead and dying... The few officers left try to rally their men, and the fighting seems to be fiercest around the group of French which have made a foothold on the deck of the Sparrow, with the injured french captain at their head.


Battle roll for British:
Cantrfreak: 1
Joo: 2

Cantr Freak is killed, Joo is greivously wounded.


French battle roll:
Pie: 2
Toon: 4
Dogonabun: 3

Pie is killed (wounded from before) Toon is scratched, Dogonabun is lightly wounded.

The ships begin to drift apart slowly... few men are still left fighting, and few officers still stand... Blood flows from the scuppers, groaning and screaming still echoing from the now hulks that were once proud ships. The Sparrow is begining to list, and Loire is heavy by the bows... Both seem irreprable.

*qickly despatches the two bodyguards, and then cringes in pain in the group of french men on the enimy ship* well men, this is it. FORM RANKS! 5 by 5!!! AT THE DOUBLE! now, first rank, fire! Secont rank, fire, third rank, fire! forward now, first rank bayonets. come on, we've practice this. reload, reload! 4th rank, fire! now lets hed foreward again! *as they press forward he sees tangentials body among the dead behind them and makes a quick sign of the cross, and sais a prare* 5th rank, fire! allright men, now we have it. We've served our country well enough. The enimy seems almost too much for us now. But when we die, we die like honest french citizens, and we'll kill these cowards like the dogs they are! now lets have at them! Victory, and a charge, so lets CHARGE! *he heads off into the foray of enimies, his men following quickly behind. he killes the first three men quickly, then spins around to face his newest enimy, but unfortunately finds himself at the wrong end of a pistol. he lunges into the blow. both him and cantr freak both die*

(ooc: yea, but next time we'll have a distinguishable line of health for men and for ships, the masts, and their speed. We also are going to need a visual playing board, wind charts, maybe some reefs thrown in there, but nothing too complicated)

OOC: I think it's time to end this game, nothing much has happened. I'm now making it a suggestions thread for the next round.


What time period would you like? What rules would be good? Any general ideas? Lemme hear, that includes people who've not played but would definitely try it out.

allright, i've got idearses. like i said afore, but heres a general list.

Maps. Give us a visual referance to the battleground and the like.

special events and objects. Wind charts, reefs, storms and the like could be used and could be really coolio.

Ports, piracy, and mony. if in a game you happen to have letters of marqu, you can raid and get mony and maybe go to a port to buy stuffs, like a better sword with an extra advantage, (if you tie in a role you automatically win. nothing big) or maybe a better telescope or somtin would be coolio. And trading and stuffies.

Land battle would be awesom. Or maybe you can be the artillery for an allready progressing land battle or such and stuff.

it might be complicated, but i think it might be cool to have even one of these tings.

Any maybe if you are killed, you hae the option of making a new character as a sailor or marine of some kind.
When you hope for something, you often believe in something. When you believe in something, you often have pride in it. Being proud often leads to a hating of some group.

I would like to suggest that their be more then 2 ships. maybe 5 ships and you do not have sailors or marines just the officer positions?
