Hatred - Good or Bad Thing?

Postby kinvoya » Tue Sep 06, 2005 10:03 pm

I am requesting a decision on hate mongering against countries, groups, races, genders, sexual orientation, etc.

I just don't think it belongs on the forums for a game which prides itself in being multinational.

Here is an example:

I wrote:(CD Edit: Cookie... let's not have any country bashing on this forum. If you are upsetting people, give it a rest. They don't need to hear it, especially on this thread. I'll leave all the posts here, but let's lay off ok? TSC)
Do you want any more action here, Kinvoya? I don't think it has reached the truly offensive stage, but any continuation as such will be moderated.

Hatred or bashing as such is not tolerated. If people find it offensive, we'll deal with it.

Thanks, Surly. That's fine with me.

I just felt it was an issue that should be clarified.

You cannot truly hate until you have truly loved.

People don't hate countries as such, they just disagree with a person or people in that country.

People shouldn't generalise.

I'm guessing most people in America (like us in the UK) know the leader of their country is an idiot? 8)

I would like to clarify the CD's stance in this instance... I don't think Cookie's comments amount to hatred. I just stepped in to assure a member of this forum that we would intervene if we judged that it was getting worse.

I haven't, contrary to somme assumptions, actually censored anything yet. However, any kind of hateful remarks will not be tolerated. You are quite right, Theorist (even if I still haven't forgiven you for letting Sonja die) that we shouldn't generalise. However, sometimes it is hard to avoid.

On second thoughts, I don't think I clarified anything. But hopefully I said somethings that might exxplain the CDs stance... :?

*claps for TSC*

I'm suprised an America basher in a majority american game didn't get castrated.

Sorry... I lost a lot of chars I loved a lot. I lost my job from playing Cantr, and got back on around 30 days later to find my account gone. I recently started my own business, then got a Cantr account, then had to stop it again.

It's like a drug... It ruins lives... I'm one of those addictive personality people!
