Large Avatars

They distort the forum frames for users, and are generally obnoxious for that reason.

Some enforcement of the imposed pixel sizes for avatars would be useful.

Just a quick question... you mean like my avatar?

Yeap, they distort the dimensions of the page so that the left frame is where the right one should be, and...bleh:

Displays a small graphic image below your details in posts. Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 80 pixels, the height no greater than 80 pixels, and the file size no more than 6 KB

But I think you both have narrowed yours down now, so that's an improvement.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean... I have no problems caused by the width or height of my avatar.

But as requested, I will sort it. I'll just change my avatar...

The frame is larger than your avatar, so therefore it is not too large.
Nitefyre is just being whiny.

nitefyre's tright - for anyone with a large resolution on their monitor, it doesn't matter, but I logged in on an 800x600 the other day - and the larger avatars (like my one of bahamut) screwed the dimensions up - they push the frame and take up too much of the page... Surly's and Nicks seem ok at the moment. I think 100px is about the limit before it starts to take over the screen...

Thanks HF.

Nick's avatar earlier was massive: both the green headed dude and the green dragon playing a trumpet, but it has since changed to that shaking monkey. (But he's just trying to degrade and undermind me wherever he can on the forums-thus he changed his avatar)

Surly's avatar seems fine now, as I said earlier.

Perhaps you can just resize it?

Download it to your computer, make it smaller, then upload it to Photobucket.

save it, use paint to resize it, then sign up for www.photobucket.com or www.geocities.com or anything like that, and you can upload it there, that's what I do to get the links to my avvies...

The rule is not wider than 80 pixels. 100 is acceptable, for off-site pictures, but no larger. They should not be taller than that either, though it is a little less important. Don't be excessive.
