"Register your participation" button not shown

I am trying to dry fish using a drying rack. I have already dried meat successfully, but when I try to do the same with fish, i create the proyect, I use the fish, but then the project remains unstarted (darker grey) in the project list and the button for "Register your participation in this project" has disappeared, so I cannot start. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
