Starting travel bug?

One of my characters clicked on a road to travel and it was churning for several minutes without refreshing the page, so I reloaded the game, went back to the character, which is still in the location, hasn't left. Then I click on the same road again. It churns for a moment, then gives me "error: you are already traveling" and now the character is on the road. Whereas another one of my characters was able to initiate travel within a second, with no lag.
