A couple days ago, someone left a message on the front page of the Cantr wiki. The same old cheesey "you're all going to get it" type of thing.

Oh yea, he also listed a bunch of open ports... which is never a good thing(to say the least)

The server was migrated to a new facility today. It's very probable that the current down-time is due to this migration. Some adjustments likely need to be made on our end before the game can come back up. I'm locking this thread and I'll keep you informed here.

We did what we needed to to do on our end, but there are concerns that something more is wrong, as we can't ping the new IP address of the server. I'll keep you all informed as I learn more.

I have no status update, unfortunately. The game appears to still be running, and the problem seems to be that we can't find it. This has something to do with the IP address having been changed and not updated in the correct way/place (from what I can discern). Echoman suggested a fix, but so far nothing from Jos today.

About a roll-back: It's possible that rolling back would lose a significant amount of game progress. If anyone's character has died during this outage (you've received a death report) and that wasn't your ultimate intention, please let me know in a PM. Emails to support will not go through until we can communicate with the server.

It would seem that a typo was made when inputting the new IP address. Many thanks to Mars for discovering this, and for those that called my attention to the post. I've sent Jos a text. Hopefully this will get resolved soon.

Awaiting the fix that brings the green back to my screen, the game has been locked. Some players figured out how to use the IP-address to the game and some hacking skills to get access to the game. Since it isn't fair that some players chars can act while others can't, I locked the game. It will be opened again when the connection problems have been sorted out.

If you can access it to lock it, can you access it to stop starvation?

No, I can't stop the Cantr clock. I'm looking for options though.

I think I have now stopped the food processing (and lack of food processing) while the game is locked.

We are getting back on track. Currently the DNS's (Domain Name Servers) are being updated. This means the site will start to get accessible from different parts of the world from now on. It can take some time before everyone can access it though, but don't be alarmed, the game is still locked while we do a damage assessment.

More news will be posted here as the whole thing progresses.

The game is now unlocked. If you still can`t access it, use a proxy IP. You can find one by searching "internet proxies" in a search engine.

It's actually the other way round for me.
Pretty in pink.
