To our Spanish- and Polish-speaking players:
At the beginning of this year, the GAB was forced to stop spawning for the Russian and Chinese language groups because we could not support them and because of a general lack of interest among the players. A recent report to the Players Department revealed that, as of now, the Cantr Staff are unable to provide reliable support the Spanish language group as well.
Currently, there are an inadequate number of active Spanish-speaking players on staff, forcing staff to rely on online translators to communicate. Unfortunately, in this latest incident, we were unable to comprehensively translate the multiple reports in order to take timely action if it was needed. While we certainly won’t be turning off spawning for the Spanish group, we can no longer offer reliable support. If only a single reliable person, bilingual in English and Spanish, were to volunteer for any of the available positions (Languages Department, Players Department, Public Relations Department), we could resume providing the support that you all expect from Cantr’s staff. The most important position to fill is the Liaison Officer in the Public Relations department. If we could fill this position, we could hire non-English speaking staff for your language group, expanding the player resource pool immensely.
Polish players currently represent 37% of the total players, and while they have a seemingly proportional presence on the staff roster, they are disproportionately represented at the highest levels of the administration, which is a shame.
The position of Liaison Officer was created for bilingual individuals to rise up and assume leadership positions within their language group. It was intended that the Liaison Officers would be your representatives on staff, the people that will carry your language’s flag and promote your language group’s interests, and to provide an expanded pool from which to select future administrators. Both the Polish and Spanish language groups are in desperate need of a Liaison Officer at this time. Remember, you will only be served as well as you serve yourselves, and you are only as visible as you make yourselves to be.
Sincerely,
Doug R.,
Game Administration Board

Doug R.,
Game Administration Board (GAB)
