Suggestions for New Instruments
Could we have a sticky for possible instruments?
Cause... Bagpipes is obviously a suggestion I'd put forward... i mean its rather an ancient instrument... And also a Sackbutt. (old version trombone) if Brass could be made...
Edited to make a sticky (rather than start a new thread) and to change the name from "Instruments...again" to "Suggestions for New Instruments" for continuity of the main suggestion sticky titles. -Hermitess

Well, I'm terribly unable to come up with proper resoruces used, but what about some sort of rattle?
Think either a dried gourd (non-existant in Cantr) filled with dried beans or pebbles. Possibly Wood with sand inside, needing a Carving knife to shape properly? Possibly bone rings carved aronud a large bone handle? Details up to RD, but a rattle might be a nice counter-pint to the other persussion instruments, and generic enough to be multi-ethnic.

Bagpipes are Spanish (North, in Asturias), Irish Scottish and probably otherish thingish too... That isn't really culture specific...

Ocarina
Can be made from clay or bone, dunno about wood, using a knife for holes on bone flutes seem to work so no reason they can't be used here as well.
And I do own and play (poorly) one of these nice cobalt blue ones. And I do realise how much a dork that makes me

How come we can't make a shiney metal flute? Or a trumpet? Steel drums? I WANT A GONG!!!
Unless you count the raw nickle in the tamborine, there's no metal instruments at all.
Can we get a bell? A big bell? A really BIG BELL? That can be heard in the next town? It'd need bronze, which would suck, and a mold, and if I remember right, the mold is destroyed to get the bell out. That'd be cool. But it'd have to be built inside. Another use of hoists and pulleys?
Not an instrumant, but on a related note, a conductors wand that you can point at people with? Can that even be coded?
