a pocket full of....?
you know what i think would be really awesome?
if certain clothing had "pockets" which acted as holdable containers do.
ive seen characters rp putting stuff in their pockets all the time. why not have certain items of clothing act as containers? especially clothing that mentions pockets in their descriptions. for example, longcoats, overalls....
functionality would work just like holdable containers do.

A pocket full of... rye?
Oohh, then can we have blackbirds to bake in a pie?
Would a simple new tiny bag, called a pocket, suffice? Perhaps a piece of string to tie it round the waist, or a button to button it to your clothing... Old stylee!

Re: a pocket full of....?
I wonder what's wrong with RPing to use a pocket. Another person would hardly be able to tell where you put your item anyway, so I don't see what actual difference pockets in clothes would make.
I know, this alone is no good reason to reject an idea, but I'm pretty certain that there are serious technical and display issues involved with the implementation of this idea and I wonder if it would be worth the effort.

oh i wasnt thinking the pockets would have to be visible or anything. i just thought it would be nice to use things like coats as containers too, and i think it just makes for nice rp.

I think more could be made of storage. If it was easier to takes things in an out, and to pass things to somoen straight out of storage. It ould make a clever way of organising your inventory.

Somewhat overlaps with this thread that had a lot of discussion about pockets or clothing acting as a container:

So what happens when a person who iswearing a pocket dies? Do you have to pick the clothes off their body to see what they were holding? Some people find that disrespectful in cantr. Would you be able to dig in a dead person's pockets? What about a live person's pockets? Give a rise to pick-pocketing.

So these people who would find that disrespectful are quite happy to loot things from a dead body, but draw the line at having to take their clothes in order to do so?

Well, things like keys need to be picked up from a dead leader, and some would perfer not to throw that leader in a hole naked. Seems kinda rude. Especially since you can't put clothes back on dead people.

Perhaps pocketed clothes could just create a sub-heading in your inventory. You would then be able to move resources and items under any heading you like. This would give you the ability to sort your items, but leave them all on the same page, easily accessible by scrolling up and down. They could also be dropped normally in case of death.
In case it's not clear what I mean, I imagine something like this:
---INVENTORY---
* 200 grams of wood
* 100 grams of stone
-- simple hide pants --
* a crumbling bone knife
-- leather longcoat --
-- tool belt --
* a brand new hammer
* a brand new pair of pliers
