Ok, done !

Glad to see some REAL french people are taking up this spot, not just a Canadian who can hardly speak it.

Oh oh! I'm afraid choriste won't be glad to hear that!
As far as I know (and if I'm not mistaken), he speaks a perfect French (like any québécois)!

Besides choriste was born in France, so I really don't know what you're talking about.

Je devrais tourner ma langue sept fois dans ma bouche avant de raconter n'importe quoi, ou plutôt lire plus attentivement avant d'écrire des sottises ! :?

The Canadian he was talking about was himself, of course!

Anyway, I don't think only French people can speak French correctly, the French from France is certainly not the (only) real French: for me, Québécois speak a perfect French too, though maybe a bit different, but no as much as American English is from British one.

Oh, believe me, being born in France doesn't always mean you speak French!

Half of my friends are québecois... I was in no way trying to insult them.
What I meant is the average Canadian (me) knows more French than the average American or Brit. I was the frenchest person Jos knew... doesnt necessarily mean I am fluent!

Je suis une Texane ! J'étudie le français en ligne, mais ce n'est pas bien encore. J'ai choisi un personnage français pour m'aider pratiquer mon français ! :P

Sometimes I use a translator if I don't know how to say something, but I can usually tell if the translator is telling me the truth or not. :o

Thats the method I use for extensively large translations.... easier just to run it through a translator and proof read it.
Nice to meet you, I can say you are the first american person who can speak french I have met. Kinda proves my last statement wrong
Welcome to Cantr.

Well met and thanks. Actually, it doesn't prove your last statement wrong at all, at least about Amerikans. In most of the U.S., I believe Spanish is the most widely studied foreign language... which isn't saying much for that. I love languages, but I hate Spanish, and that's the only language my school offers (mandatory). When people at my school hear that I am studying French, they're all in awe... and the only French speakers I know here are from Canada.

Oh, and I have done the same for large translations... Well, not really large, but enough so to be annoying... It was with lyrics. Sometimes I get a French song and can't understand hardly a word, so I have to get the lyrics, and then I translate it all to English and study it. :D

Grr... Stop revealing my secrets, le vieux!

That's actually true, but what I'm trying really hard at is to learn! :P

Hey! Stop calling me "le vieux", la gamine !

Anyway, better try than say it's too hard or stupid or useless...

Some things have been correctly translated in French (no harm intended, Nick  )!
Just wondered who did the stuff...
