50,300 words. Finished November 29.
Only 2 people died. The woman who perpetrated the fraud escaped.
The little boy is still mute.
There ya go! :D

Is anyone else doing the 2014 NaNoWriMo? I won it in 2011, but took a hiatus for 2012 and 2013. This year, I don't expect to write the whole 50k. My goal will be to get to know more writers in my neck of the woods. But I'll give it a shot. It won't be Cantr related; I tend to prefer speculative fiction. But I was curious if anyone else is going to do it this year.

I thought of this a week or two ago only because I literally dreamt of a story. It would require a lot of research on my part to make it even halfway decent, plus I've never attempted to write anywhere near 50k. Probably going to pass, for several reasons. Maybe one day when I find myself with a lot of free time. (har har)

I actually plan to do it this year.

But it's my first year, so I have no idea what "winning" the thing consists of. What do you win, and what are the criteria? Is it cashes or just, you know, the overwhelming prestige that comes of triumphing on the interwebs?

"Winning" means you succeed in writing at least 50.000 words of your story within one month.
Don't ponder every sentence, every word, just keep on creating text. It helps you becoming more fluent in transforming your thoughts into actual text.
I think ...

I have this extensive plot with lots of notes on characters and specific things I want to happen written down, and I started writing on it a long time ago but gave it up because I got stuck. I don't think I have the time to finish 50k but I will probably try anyway.

Camp NaNoWriMo is almost here!!!

Is anybody doing it?

Does anybody want to do it but you have no idea what to write?

Here's my idea that I was going to use for NaNo 2013:
Take all of your Cantr characters with all their issues and problems, and throw them in a single universe where they are allowed to interact. Write about what happens. If you don't want to out your characters, you can change their names and appearances.

Since we all have different characters, it's obvious that there will end up being different stories from each of us.

I didn't know there was a summer version. I still want to do it sometime, but. . .
