Cantria - an original work of fiction

Postby Doug R. » Fri Oct 25, 2013 3:23 am

In the 1400's, I was forced to unsub my Cantr account due to RL reasons related to my emotional addiction to the game. Cantr's absence left a massive void in my life that I filled by feverish writing. The result was Cantria, a large work of fantasy fiction based on my characters and others important to them. Sadly, my muse vanished, and my enthusiasm soon followed, leaving me with a tome that I felt was in no shape to be published. It has been collecting dust for many years now. I'd like to dust it off and do something with it, but to do so, I need a muse again, so this is why I'm putting it out there for all of you. I'll be posting the novel chapter by chapter on Deviantart, and I'll post the links here as well.

Sounds good, and coming from you it's probably very well written.

Hi, I have always hoped someone would do this! I considered it myself for a while, but I don't think writing a novel is my calling. Looking forward to reading.

I apologize that I haven't gotten started on this yet. I've been unwell. Way for me to build it up and then vanish. :|

Some creative name changes there. :P

It's pretty good so far, sort of makes me want to write a Cantr-set fiction too.

For those of you with devaintART accounts, if you could favorite the submission to buoy it up a bit, I'd consider it a favor. Things get buried so quickly there. Also, if you have friends that like fantasy, please share.

I specifically didn't put it into fan-fic because other than the title and veiled town/event/character references, I'd like to think that the story can stand on its own. Most people don't read fan-fic unless they're also a fan, and in the grand scheme of the fantasy genre, <0.000001% of the reader base has ever heard of Cantr. Cantr inspired the story, but the story isn't about Cantr.
