I write like...

Postby SekoETC » Thu Sep 16, 2010 12:41 pm

I found this website that analyzes text. I'm not quite sure how it does it and it seems to give different answers based on what type of a text is in question, but since it gave me Gary Doctorow for several texts, Stephen King for two texts and Chuck Palahniuk for two texts, it doesn't seem completely random. I also got Stephanie Mayer for a text that was mainly dialogue and very little narrative.

James Joyce

Used an email I wrote yesterday expressing emotions.

Stephen King

I used the post about how real I see Cantr.

Edit: and now Margaret Atwood, with the "I'd died" post.

Me too. James Joyce. Same with my daughter.
Reveal to me the mysteries
Can you tell me what it means?
Explain these motions and metaphors
Unlock these secrets in me
Describe the vision, the meaning is missing
Won't anybody listen?

His books end like really bad cantr deaths, abrupt and meaningless.

Nifty...probably uses quick scanning, checking for things such as average Paragraph Length, Grammatical Correctness (just because they're published and edited doesn't mean everything is 100% grammatically correct!), Frequency of Dialogue...just a guess and half rambling...but...time for my results!

Plopped a few lengthy snips and short stories I have in there...

Got Cory Doctorow on my most recent Cyberpunk Short Story...

J. K. Rowling for an unfinished Steampunk Story

And Dan Brown for everything else. (Modern Era Magical Fantasy type story, Cyber Punk Fiction, and a Story I wrote for one of My Characters in City of Heroes >.>)

That was exactly what I meant.... and absurd. It's as if he got bored with his own story, and then tries to end it quickly, with the first idea that comes to his mind...
