Wow, I didn't mean to spark a debate or anything like that.
All I had meant to say when I brought up linguistics was that I think languages and studying them are interesting.

Think of it this way:
To politicise something is an activity, not unlike, let's say whisking.
If I say the making of a cake (employing linguistics) involves the whisking (politicising) of eggs (utterances)... to create a paste (creating borders)... you wouldn't then say I was saying that whisking 'was' eggs, or any of the other processes or items.

Also read some stuff on logic by Russell or Hodges.

Touché! I certainly can't argue with that logic or that stunning analogy.

On a positive note... it's been a distraction.

My earlier rant stands though...
...I am still having problems with 'people' in general... just... people... what the hell is wrong with people these days..? One even came to my door today.

I've been debugging this game for so long that I'm starting to break things that were fine before.

Goodness gracious! Did they walk on your lawn to get there? 'Cause that's just...too much. Sometimes I see them at the store, too.

*crack* ~**snap**~

Thats the sound of the pistachio nuts that I have been eating. **crack**
Each one of them represents a moment in time, another second, another breath. **snap**

I while the time away as my father in law sits in our family room, dying of lung cancer.

He smoked for 50yrs, so who can't say it wasn't deserved?
All of the years that he was told, "those things will kill you"
yet here he is, 89yrs old... yes, the demons caught up.
**snap** One more breath, a little shallower.
Damn this sucks.

He is so thin now, unable to hold down solid food for a month.
I don't know if he will die of cancer, or starve to death in our house.
He said, "no chemo"... so we sit can count the moments. **crack**

Its may 25th and he looks like Auchwitz.
He is so cold.
We forget the nuts and I hold one of his hands and my wife holds the other.
Tonight, probably... the stubborn old bastard is still hanging on.

You know that it doesn't happen with dramatic theme music.
There are no spasms.
No convulsions.
As we sat there warming his hands, he just stopped breathing.
We didn't even know at first, we were watching his chest rise and fall.
"Did he breathe? I didn't see it"
********************************************

On May 25 at 9:14, Joe left us.
I can't say he was a "great" man, he and God are going to have a few things to talk about.
But in the end, grace will get him through.
...Now I wait for the moment when I will see him again, we also will need to talk.
They took him away and now he rests on a hill overlooking a beautiful and untouched Appalachian valley.
Waiting.

I didn't know where to post this and probably could have written it better, I just needed to unload.
Sorry Cantr, its with many of you that I have shared other losses in life.
Here I am asking you to listen again.
Sorry.
A famous wise man once said absolutely nothing!

It touched me so deep reminding my father I lost from cancer months ago...

A father is everything to a daughter and there isn't an age limit of being an orphan. Sincerest condolences to you and your family.

I lost my uncle after he struggled a lot and barely lived in his last three years, my family took care of him and when I look at his couch I still see him there. He was lucky to spend his last days peacefully with you.
I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.

An Old Story

Postby Genie » Fri Aug 03, 2018 7:06 pm

I dedicate this story to the people feeling uncomfortable about some game events, but not contacting to PD.

Timur's Elephant
Nasreddin Hodja

Timur turns one of his male elephants over to the people of Aksehir ordering them to take care of it. In addition to wreaking havoc in the town, the elephant becomes a terrible burden on the people who are already too poor to get decent food for themselves. A group of them visits Hodja with a request:
-Please ask Tamurlane to take the monster back.
Hodja says:
-Form a committee. Let's all go together. I'll serve as your spokesman.
A committee is formed of about fifteen prominent citizens of Aksehir. Hodja joins them, they set out, but since these people are terrified of Timur, they vanish one by one. Each one has an excuse:
-I've got to pass water, I've forgotten my tobacco-box at home, etc.
Assuming that the committee is right behind him, Hodja briskly walks into Timur's tent and begins to make his plea:
-Sir, the people of our town...
He turns his back a little to point them out and suddenly realizes that not one of them came into the tent. Since he had started making his plea, he continues:
-The people of our town are so happy with the male elephant...They are happy beyond words, but there is a slight problem: The animal is lonesome and unhappy. We would like your Majesty to consider giving the people of the town a female elephant as a companion for him.
Timur is overjoyed to hear this plea.
-All right, he says. I shall do what the people wish, as soon as possible.
Hodja goes back to town. People gather around him asking him anxiously:
-Please tell us, Hodja, what happened?
-I have great news for you, beams Hodja. To keep the male calamity company, a female calamity will soon arrive. Now you can rejoice.
I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.

I really like your fable, Genie, but I'm having trouble figuring out what the moral of it is. I've narrowed it down to a few possibilities:

1) Things can always get worse.
2) Stick together if you want to accomplish something.
3) Nothing good ever came from forming a committee.
4) If your friends let you down, get revenge.
5) If rich people are exploiting poor people, the poor people will turn on each other and make things worse for themselves.

Maybe all? To me it's telling that changes need reaction and courage. If you can't act, you need to bear whatever happens even if it means the death of you or being miserable at the end.
