to tame = zähmen
to adopt = ????
to tame = zum Nutztier machen
to adopt = zum Haustier machen
Oder ist das zu umständlich?

Re: Übersetzung
hm, schwierig.
to tame: domestizieren
to adopt: an sich gewöhnen, Freundschaft schließen

Dein Vorschlag passt also ziemlich gut, Ronja (to tame = domestizieren, to adopt = an sich gewöhnen).
Greek wrote:1. Yes. Taming is like making an animal domesticated at all. Adopting/making loyal binds an already domesticated animal to a character.
2. Yes and no, but mostly no. Domesticated animals exist in two forms: packs (like the wild ones) and objects. Only animals-objects can be adopted. Only animals in packs produce milk and can be milked, but if you have a cow full of milk and separate it from a pack then milk is stored inside of it and will be available when joined back with a pack.
To get milk from an adopted cow you have to join it with a pack (and therefore bond between character and animal is broken).
That part of preview is quite short, but I hope everything will get clear during public tests.
And there's a screenshot of a warning when trying to join an animal loyal to you with a pack:

project_cooking
Cooking <CANTR REPLACE NAME=raw_#RAW#>
project_cooking_fueled
Cooking <CANTR REPLACE NAME=raw_#RAW#> (<CANTR REPLACE NAME=raw_#FUEL#>)
project_drying
Drying <CANTR REPLACE NAME=raw_#RAW#>
project_salting
Salting <CANTR REPLACE NAME=raw_#RAW#>

Hallo.
I'm not sure if I understand correctly, I hope it's answer for your question.
All these project names are used on the "use machine" page (list of available projects for the machine) and as name for new projects created on them, like "Drilling for stone" or "Cooking meat".
Polish example:
But how does it work?
To reduce amount of tags I grouped projects of the same type (like "Cooking x") as just one tag and made that a raw name used for a project is added automatically.
<CANTR REPLACE NAME=raw_#RAW#> is recognized by the game like: "Find in database and insert these a tag with name >>raw_#RAW#<<. Try to use character's language or English if it is not yet translated". (#RAW# is replaced by a concrete raw name). So for example project "Cooking meat" uses tag "project_cooking" whose #RAW# is "meat".
In example if you translate "Cooking <CANTR REPLACE NAME=raw_#RAW#>" as "<CANTR REPLACE NAME=raw_#RAW#> kochen" then for German characters this project will be visible as in example "Fleisch kochen". (Fleisch is taken from tag with name raw_meat) You shouldn't translate literally, just try to do it as good as possible for German.
In example in Polish we replaced "Cooking meat (fuel)" with "Cooking meat using fuel" to make translation more natural for Polish players.
However, for some projects (especially with player specified names, like buildings or vehicles) it wasn't possible to use so powerful translation system. If you see that a tag is just one word, like "Building" then you can expect whole project name is something like "Building #name#" and it's not possible to change order of words.

<CANTR REPLACE NAME=raw_#RAW#> kochen
<CANTR REPLACE NAME=raw_#RAW#> kochen (<CANTR REPLACE NAME=raw_#FUEL#>)
<CANTR REPLACE NAME=raw_#RAW#> trocknen
<CANTR REPLACE NAME=raw_#RAW#> salzen
