Private talking

Postby Solfius » Wed Aug 27, 2003 5:02 pm

Is it me or has the amount of private talking in places increased dramtically. I don't recall the amount of private things being said ever being as high as this. Almost as much, if not more, that public talking

I've noticed that too. Some usually active places have become very quiet, very little speaking in public. That can make it difficult for others to keep any kind of momentum/rp going. The more outwardly active everyone is, the easier it is for all to participate, especially the new folks.

And yet in other places, almost nothing is said in private, including rather amorous conversations :-\

I think that's funny.

Didn't we just have a converastion on too much public talking a month or two ago?

maybe, but this one is about the volume of private talking, compared to what it used to be.

I prefer to talk about private things in private...I only talk about public things when my characters are saying things in a tone of voice that would be heard by most others...like greeting someone or asking a question out loud.

I'm always talking public. Only private (mostly OOC) things are private... but that's not much ;).

For me, it depends on the situation. If what I say has strategic value, for instance a discussion on prices, etc., I will talk in private. But everything else will be done in public.
