Meetups
Just out of curiosity:
Some Cantr players used to organise meetups. I'm only aware of a few of them over the years, but people would meet physically with other players in Cantr. GAB had one for itself in Kiel once, in Germany, and I know one or two took place for players in the US. Does any of this still happen?

Re: Meetups
I met with a small group of Spanish players some years ago.
And once I moved to the Netherlands, cantrian players were my only contact around, so...
Not sure if calling it meetup, though...

Re: Meetups
I know they are Polish players meetups, but I've never had a chance to attend one. I am planning to meet with a few players soon, but it's definitely not an 'organised meetup'.

Re: Meetups
Never been in an official meeting, but I have met multiple Cantr players, which was quite nice, each time.
Even once with multiple people, I guess you could call that a meetup somehow?
But I haven't seen or heard anything from "bigger" meetups in, really, the years I've been playing.
I have been thinking, maybe if I get enough money for the travelling, I should do a "tour of Cantr" and crash on player's couches

Re: Meetups
I'm married to a Cantr player and two of his friends used to play long ago. One of those friends played a Stone Knight and one of my characters got in a huge argument with her. Good old times.

Re: Meetups
I'm currently some where in Ohio on a bus on my way to see a former cantr player in Florida. Does that count?
It seems most of the Canadian cantr players are over in bc or way up north. So as much as I'd love a meetup with a group it seems more like I have to go to them xD

Re: Meetups
I didn't mean anything too formal. That's really cool to hear there are so many players who met in real life through Cantr!
I know of two marriages as well, are there more by now?

I would love to be able to meet up with some players! It would be fun. Any players around Pennsylvania?

Seconded! I'd love a meetup. Upstate NY now, temporarily lived in Philly, but originally from Lancaster, PA.

Ahh! Yes so much! We should definitely make this happen. Sometime during this Summer, maybe? We can refer to each other by our forum names

I'm in Northern Ohio. About 45 minutes south west of Cedar Point.
I have tentative plans to go meet a Cantr friend in Canada in a few years when I have more vacation time though.
Oh look, another glorious morning… makes me SICK!

Re: Meetups
Like Seko, I'm married to a Cantr player - who I got addicted, so it's my fault. Otherwise, I've not yet met up with any Cantr players.

Just once I met with someone who was nearby, 5 or 6 years ago.

Re: Meetups
What would be really neat is if someone with more HTML5-fu talent than I do, makes a little database of one's birthday and location, then ties in the Google Map API to show dots that could have a "Woman in her thirties, man in his thirties" pop up on mouseover. Maybe even encrypted profile info, but so that messages could be sent "anonymously" to say hi and arrange meetups for any "locals" discovered on the map?
