If so, what would it be like? :?

There are plenty of Care Bear towns. Their biggest problem is fighting boredom.

I think that's probably the problem with most towns where the same thing happens again and again. Even "warrior" villages can get a bit dull, if there's no variety or if the RP is bad or repetitive.

Back when I first started playing, the most boring things happening to my characters were *always* pirate-related. There's nothing exciting about being dragged into a room and left there. ;-)

Really??

I bet a lot more sex goes on in boring Care Bear towns, nothing better to do there

You could almost wish there were pitch black times like night in Cantr where you could move about but not be seen, would make for some interesting situations.. people sneaking into dark areas and out of the way buildings without being seen and identified etc 8)

Oh, that makes me think of the scene in the Simpsons Movie when they start suffering from blackouts after being sealed in the dome, and people steal all the booze from Moe's, and he's like "very funny, I'll just turn this light off and when I turn it back on, you will have put the stuff back from where you took it". And afterwards they had stolen even the bar and Moe's pants. I was guessing they would steal the TV but they stole everything not nailed to the floor and maybe even something that was.

I've always wanted to find a town where being "outside" was not encouraged, and everyone lived in a Hall, with periodic hunting to get food, but otherwise "indoors only" types of people. I tried setting one of those up once, but no one would follow me. :)

Well, Klojt Armory occasionally has up to 20 people inside, it was funny when I did statistics on which locations had the most events (or more like people in which locations had observed the most events, since it's impossible to tell where those events took place) and it scored higher than most towns. Also a lot of people moved indoors after the massacres. Dory was also interesting after the massacres with only 4 people outside. If only they'd evacuated everybody before the attackers came, there would've been no one outside to hit. When it was said on the radio that the killers were going to Sanctuary mountain, it was clear it was going to be Dory or Klojt or both.

So maybe it's time to start thinking aboutimplementing strongholds, castles and other fortifications? :)

I mean by that structures where you can gather resources inside (and outside as well)

Yes, but that is simply a temporary "working indoors" sounding situation, with known killers on the loose?
I'd like to see an "Other" culture where being outside itself is frowned upon for either religious or societal pressures, rather than a logical "security" measure. Heck, maybe have being inside for security evolve into the cultural norm for the town and thus fulfill the "otherness" factor in my mind, which I think the OP was going for, rather than short-term situations like this sounds. :)

Klojt really works on a system of slavery. I have never seen any of the slaves in the armory use their coins. My first character spawned in Klojt, and was enslaved in the armory. After some time he tried buying some stuff with the coins he "earned" but it didn't work. So, he had an existential crisis and left the town to die.

Animal attacks drove one town indoors to live. My char hated it. We all culled to move back out.

Some of them have bought stuff with their coins, although most do seem to keep saving them. We might stall things if someone who doesn't talk much wants to buy a weapon but things like clothes are sold readily if they're in stock and the person can afford them. Your character acted rather suspiciously, he entered a lot of buildings, didn't reply when spoken to and left without saying goodbye. For a while we suspected he might have stolen something from the hospital, but since another newspawn left around the same time, there was no telling which one might be guilty so we decided not to come after you, just might have asked some questions if you decided to come back. Later it turned out that the thief was in fact one apparent sleeper. And he was a difficult worker, Coventina expected him to make four shirts for a nickel because they take 1.25 days each and we don't have a coin for a quarter day, but he was asking to get paid after two. He seemed like a very impatient child.

Hardly anyone ever talked in the armory. People would just announce what they were working on and ask for their coins. My char was a law abiding slave. He wanted to buy a flute. He was also looking for some work since Mr. Bix had recently freed the slaves in the armory and hence went into the music shop. But neither those in the music shop nor anyone else would respond. Then he realized the true nature of the coins and his slavery and in that moment of shock he lost his mind. I don't know if you are referring to my char, but he wasn't a difficult worker at all.

It's often difficult to keep track of what individuals want. If Fawn wasn't answering his request, Coventina could've most likely sold him that flute although she generally tried not to step onto Fawn's sector, even though the town had some musical instruments in storage, but I guess she was never aware of what he was looking for. But discussing what-ifs doesn't really lead into anything. The slavery argument has come to my mind as well, or my character's mind, but if the people are slaves, they seem mostly content in their status.

This talk of slavery in Klojt (on the forum, not IG) reminds me of an interesting character who woke up one day wondering where her master was. It was very well executed, I think. But I digress.

Lucky for me *perhaps just a wee little bit of sarcasm there* , my character was ill during the massacres, so course they were forced to stay inside anyway. It was sad that it all lined up so well, but I suppose they'll get over it.
(I don't even know why I'm trying to conceal the identity of my character. Most observant people who have a character in Klojt probably know exactly who I am talking about.)

That one character spends their time fairly equally between outside and inside between the Armoury and the central area doing the only thing they do well, and they don't exactly feel like a slave...

And that is my absurdly interesting two cents for now.

More seriously, the fault lies in the fact that in Cantr people have no real needs apart from food. So, they don't want to "buy" any of those stuff but would gladly accept if offered freely. There is scope for a monetary system to work if many towns accept a common currency, but I doubt if that is going to happen anytime soon, if not ever.
